Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and flexible Operations Assistant to join our growing and friendly team. Supporting our business unit leads and key client managers across the Yorkshire Northeast region initially, but with wider UK reach as required. Establishing and operating a financial management process that ensures that both internal (Turner & Townsend) and external client needs are met and that our accounts are operationally compliant. You will be the main point of contact for all operation related queries on the accounts for our region but supported by a UK wide operations team.
* Set up and maintenance of new opportunities
* Manage competing priorities
* Set up new jobs on the Financial Management System (charge rates, target fees and cost)
* Maintenance of jobs through the finance system until closeout
* Management of Intercompany agreements and Intercompany invoices
* Support the Business Unit Leads and Key Account Manager with the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting reviews
* Identifying and providing rationale for variances against budget and forecast figures
* Review and analysis of the Management Accounts – identifying and reporting trends
* Responsible for raising monthly invoices and billing report
* Supporting the Credit Control team as required
* Time sheet analysis and reporting
* Contract database review and compliance checking
* Working closely with the Turner & Townsend finance team
* Responding to requests for information on profitability/deep dive review of job
* Support financial analysis within the Cost Assurance function
* Raising and receipting purchase orders
* Responding to general operational queries as they arise
Qualifications
* Quantitative skills – understanding and manipulating numbers and data
* Strong Excel Skills (including Sumif, Vlookup, Pivotables and Graphs)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Good team player
* Strong organisation and time management
* Ability to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines
* Flexible and responsive attitude
* Able to deal with competing priorities
* Proactive problem solver
* A bachelor’s degree in a Finance discipline, or equivalent qualification is desirable
