A Domestic Assistant / Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents in a care home. They ensure high hygiene standards and contribute to the overall well-being of residents by keeping the facility tidy and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize residents' rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms.
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed following infection control procedures.
Change and launder bedding, towels, and residents clothing as needed.
Replenish cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues.
Assist with waste disposal, ensuring safe and hygienic practices.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in dining and kitchen areas.
Work closely with care staff to support residents comfort and dignity.
Essential Skills & Qualities: Attention to detail and a strong focus on hygiene.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time management and organizational skills.
A caring and respectful attitude towards elderly and vulnerable individuals.
Knowledge of infection control and health & safety regulations (preferred).
Requirements & Qualifications: Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or a similar role (preferred but not essential).
Basic knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines (desirable).
Enhanced DBS check (required for care home settings).
A positive and proactive attitude.
Preferred if candidate can drive.
