We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Leicester, a category B male prison located in Leicestershire.
HMP Leicester is a male prison with a capacity of 356, where 80% of the prisoners are on remand.

The Pharmacy team consists of 5 members, including 1 x Lead Pharmacy Technician, 1 x Pharmacy Technician, and 1 x Pharmacy Assistant.
There are 4 hatches based in the pharmacy department: 2 x generic pharmacy hatches and 1 x menadione hatch.
Hours
This is a permanent role based on 37.5 hours per week, with shift patterns covering Monday to Sunday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm or 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Salary
This full-time position offers an annual salary between £33,232 and £40,211 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing outstanding quality-based patient-centered care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patient feedback to personalize and inform care.
* Focusing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard and that standard operating procedures are followed.
* Delivering non-judgmental care within the scope of professional standards, including the timely administration of medicines and analyzing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
* Making a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC, or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
