An exciting opportunity has arisen in Rolls-Royce as we are seeking to recruit a Repair Design Engineer. As a Repair Design Engineer, you will provide critically important support to a portfolio of operational Defence customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities.
This Repair Design Engineer role is in Rolls-Royce's Defence division and will be based in Bristol, part of the wider Mature Engines programme focused on supporting our existing customers.
You will define, validate, and support the implementation of repair instructions, inspection criteria, maintenance policies, and procedures at the component level. This will enable you to develop your ability to solve problems, define requirements, and prepare repair definitions.
What you will be doing:
* Define, develop, and substantiate Repair Instructions. Co-ordinate the implementation of these Repair instructions at both internal and external Repair suppliers.
* Define acceptance standards for service run components. Provide technical support to MRO operations both internally and externally in the delivery of component maintenance including disposition of unserviceable hardware.
* In conjunction with the Materials Repair Technology team, develop and exploit new Repair and Inspection technologies to support the identification of opportunities to reduce the cost of component repair.
* Continuously improve the processes and tools used to develop and support the definition of repair instructions.
Who we're looking for:
* Be educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
* Possess a broad understanding of Gas Turbine technologies, but training can be provided to develop this if appropriate.
* Possess strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, personal drive, excellent communication and presentation skills, and will need to contribute effectively to a team environment.
* Have experience of Computer Aided Design software.
* Be required to manage multiple delivery commitments to varying timelines and customers.
*To work for Rolls-Royce you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently have this in place. Due to the nature of work, the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality.*
We are an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives which are crucial to innovation and problem-solving.
