A highly experienced, award-winning construction and interior fit-out company, based in London, is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to support with the delivery of a luxury hotel refurbishment, including a rooftop extension with super luxury suites in an iconic hotel in London. This role involves managing health and safety standards during the refurbishment of luxury suites.
They deliver a world-class finish on every project and work with a host of prestigious clients. They are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator who is a Temporary Works Coordinator to oversee health and safety coordination for a luxury hotel refurbishment project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health and Safety Oversight - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards throughout the refurbishment project.
2. Temporary Works Coordination - Act as a Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring that all temporary structures are designed and implemented safely.
3. Site Inspections - Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure that safety protocols are being followed.
4. Risk Assessments - Prepare, review, and update risk assessments and method statements related to construction activities.
5. Safety Training - Develop and deliver safety training programs for site personnel to promote a culture of safety.
6. Incident Reporting - Investigate accidents and incidents on-site, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
7. Collaboration - Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure a cohesive approach to health and safety.
8. Documentation - Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and documentation as required by legislation and company policies.
Qualifications
1. Experience - Proven experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on refurbishment projects.
2. Background - Candidates with a contractor background are highly desirable.
3. Certifications - Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are preferred but not essential.
4. Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices in construction.
5. Communication Skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
6. Problem-Solving Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address safety challenges effectively.
7. Previous Experience - Previous experience as a Health and Safety biased Site Manager will be considered an advantage.
8. Familiarity - Familiarity with heavy structural works, rooftop extensions, and other heavy cut and carve projects would be advantageous.
