We are looking for an experienced Criminal Justice Worker to join our team as a Recovery Coordinator in Reading. This role focuses on supporting individuals within the criminal justice system, helping them address substance use, reduce harm, and rebuild their lives upon release.
*Due to the specific needs of some of the individuals we support, this role is open to male applicants only, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Occupational Requirement).
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Full Time Salary Range: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience (pro rata for part time hours)
Contract Type:Fixed Term until 31st March 2026
Responsibilities
About the Role
As a Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering vital support to people in the criminal justice system across Reading.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting individuals from their first point of contact through their treatment and recovery journey.
* Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referrals.
* Working with people to support social reintegration, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
* Delivering group work programmes and workshops to meet diverse needs.
* Carrying out prison in-reach work, supporting individuals before release and ensuring a smooth transition into community-based services.
* Building strong partnerships with courts, police, probation, and other agencies to deliver joined-up support.
* Encouraging involvement from families, carers, and the wider community in the recovery process.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a strong understanding of substance use issues and experience in a criminal justice or similar setting.
* Is an excellent communicator (both verbal and written) with strong IT skills.
* Is proactive, able to work independently, and skilled in time management and prioritisation.
* Thrives in teamwork, with the ability to build positive relationships with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders.
* Understands the importance of information governance and follows all necessary safeguards.

* The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and undergo MOJ vetting.

**please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

CGL points 23 to 28 (£27,449.52 - £31,529.41)
