Deputy Head of Operational Excellence
Location: Manchester, UK
Hybrid Working: 2 days per week on site, 3 days WFH.

Role Purpose:
The Head of OE supports the design and deployment of processes and assumes full ownership of operational support alongside project support and continuous improvement initiatives within the respective GBSO process area. Leading their team, they ensure the smooth running of activities in existing processes through monitoring, hands-on troubleshooting, and continuous improvement via approved projects and small to medium OE initiatives. Furthermore, the Head of OE keeps in touch with recent technology, innovation, and Lonza’s needs to further drive efficiency and automation of the processes.
Key responsibilities:
* Support global vision, roadmap and objectives for the end-to-end process and technology.
* Act as a change agent to ensure that change process is deployed with minimal disruption and in a sustainable manner across the Organization.
* Foster strong business partnerships with key collaborators and conduct regular reviews to align process strategy and inspire change and user adoption of standard processes and technologies.
* Build a robust internal collaborator support system through cross-functional teamwork and collaborator training initiatives.
* Gather standard methodologies, benchmarks, and ideas from the External Expert Network, Shared Services Center(s), and the Business in general to support outstanding solutions. Help identify and own innovation projects and related business case.
* Ensure data-driven process performance monitoring to pro-actively identify and solve issues, advancing when necessary. Make use of data to drive a culture of continuous improvement in existing and future digital solutions.
Key requirements:
* Good understanding of finance processes.
* Excellent experience within regulatory reporting.
* Excellent understanding of service management and project management.
* Excellent understanding of process changes and lean principles.
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Ability to create and conduct presentations and trainings effectively.
