Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of logistics, and familiarity with procurement systems such as Oracle EBS and SAP. The Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing materials and supplies, maintaining supplier relationships, and optimising purchasing strategies to meet the organisation's needs.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
2. Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
3. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable conditions.
4. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information within procurement systems.
5. Collaborate with the supply chain team to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
6. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Resolve any issues related to deliveries or product quality in a timely manner.
8. Prepare reports on purchasing activities and present findings to management.
Skills
1. Proficiency in procurement systems such as Oracle EBS or SAP is essential.
2. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics management.
3. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers.
4. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
