We are seeking an experienced Governance Officer to lead the management of our information governance agenda across all company services. In this pivotal role, you will support the day-to-day operational delivery of information governance, ensuring that our practices meet the high standards outlined in the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and fully comply with UK data protection laws. Your expertise will be essential in safeguarding our data integrity and maintaining our commitment to excellence in information governance. This is a full-time Fixed-Term position until July 2025, you will be predominantly remote with the occasional requirement to travel to our Regional offices. Provide timely IG advice and guidance that aligns with policies and supports business needs. Act as a positive ambassador for IG, promoting awareness and best practices to all stakeholders. Lead the collection and submission of evidence for the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). Manage information incidents, provide mitigation advice, identify process improvements, and deliver training as needed. Use our privacy management portal to support projects, ensuring data protection by design, completing impact assessments, maintaining records, and updating privacy notices. Please see the attached job description for a full list of job responsibilities. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: 3 years Information Governance experience. Experience of Information Governance in a Health and Social Care environment. BCS Data Protection Qualification. Certified GDPR/DPA Training. A comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance and risks associated to Data Protection and Information Security. Experience managing internal data protection and information security audits. You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
