Are you a manufacturing/process technician experienced in chemical processing looking for a new role or your next career step? We are recruiting for our prestigious client in Lincoln.
Main Responsibilities and Activities:
1. Assess and resolve issues with surface treatment processes.
2. Evaluate and improve surface deposition processes, including design and testing of tooling, anodes, bath setups, and preparation.
3. Amend written instructions where required and be the point-of-contact technical support for plating operators.
4. Create and review controlling process documentation in accordance with relevant specifications.
5. Control stock levels and carry out actions required following solution testing (chemical additions and dilutions).
6. Co-ordinate with subcontract representatives to create and improve in-house and external processes.
7. Ensure smooth running of the department, including maintaining water treatment and effluent plants.
8. Correct storage and disposal of plating chemicals and hazardous waste.
9. Liaise with engineering, laboratory, and supply team.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential
1. Experience in a surface treatments environment.
2. Understanding of principles of electrodeposition and chemical conversion.
3. Good numeracy and literacy skills.
4. Familiarity with working with chemicals in a safe and responsible manner.
5. Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office.
6. Quality driven team worker able to work under pressure.
Desirable
1. Professional, further, or higher education qualification in physical or chemical sciences.
2. Experience with cadmium or copper plating.
3. Experience with anodising, phosphating, and stainless steel passivation.
4. Familiarity with specification controlled production environment, particularly aerospace.
5. Experience and understanding of effluent and water purification technologies.
6. Experience with NADCAP audits.
Working Hours:
Overtime available when required.
1. Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm; No Premium Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm.
2. A Shift: Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 1:35pm; No Premium Friday 6:00am to 12:45pm.
3. B Shift: Monday to Thursday 1:25pm to 9:05pm; 20% Premium Friday 12:35pm to 7:00pm.
