Applicants are invited to apply for the whole time position of Specialty Doctor with an interest in Skin Cancer and General Plastic Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated surgeon to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary care both from the Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery unit based at Whiston Hospital.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
* FRCS (Plastics) or equivalent medical qualification
* Hold a current registration with the GMC at the time of application
Clinical Experience
* Minimum 4 years post graduate experience with at least 2 years in Burns & Plastic Surgery
* Experience in the management of skin cancer
* Experience of supervising Junior Medical Staff
* Experience or ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within the specialty
* Experience and ability to contribute to the efficient and smooth running of a specialist service within an NHS setting
* Experience or ability to organise and manage clinical priorities and deliverance of prioritised activity
Teaching Experience
* Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates
* Contributes to teaching and learning of others in a clinical setting
Researching Experience
* Understanding of the basic principles of audit and research
* Evidence of active participation in audit
* Participation in clinical/laboratory research
* Publications, abstracts, peer reviewed articles
Other
* Is up to date and fit to practice safely
* Demonstrates clarity in written/spoken communication & capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation
