Due to continued growth and investment, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Transport/Logistics Supervisor to join our Transport Team at our Newburn, Newcastle Site on a full-time and permanent basis.
In this role, you will focus on the operational management of our HGV driven team. Reporting to the Transport Manager, the successful candidate will control the daily planning schedule for our fleet of HGVs to support both internal and external customer requirements. As well as creating effective and efficient work plans, you will be responsible for the daily management of the driver team ensuring they remain compliant whilst delivering the daily outputs set out in your plan. Closely monitoring KPIs and progress across the day to produce great results for the business unit.
An on-the-ground presence is required to work effectively with the team, managing the team face-to-face as well as remotely once they have left the depot. While there is an element of desk-based work, time spent with the driver team is essential. Working as part of the Transport team alongside production and plant planning teams, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the productivity of our HGV fleet.

The Ideal Candidate
* All applicants should hold qualifications relevant to the position being applied for.
* Previous experience in a transport planning role would be advantageous especially if you’re able to demonstrate previous driver management success.
* Experience in a construction or aggregate supply type operation would offer a straightforward transition to this exciting new role.
* An HGV driving licence would be useful but not essential as would Transport Manager CPC qualification.
* Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
