We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a 4-year-old boy with Down Syndrome in Reception class at one of our wonderfulPrimary Schools in Swadlincote, Derby. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in a child’s educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 support to a child with Down Syndrome in a Reception class setting.
* Assisting with personal care, including nappy changing and toileting, as the child is not toilet trained.
* Helping the child engage in classroom activities, develop social skills, and foster inclusion.
* Providing hands-on physical support (moving and handling training is ideal but not essential).

Additional Responsibilities:
* Providing pastoral and academic support to pupils.
* Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and monitoring behaviour.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a school, or other relevant experience with children.
* A caring and proactive attitude, willing to engage with intimate care responsibilities.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
