Junior Project Planner
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Irlam (hybrid, 2 days from home)
We are looking for a Junior Project Planner with a strong understanding of infrastructure type projects through the design, construction and commissioning phases. The Junior Project Planner will develop a deep understanding of a programme of works that is associated with building a nationwide fibre network and will assist with the development and maintenance of programmes, supporting the business in delivering projects on time and to budget. The role will support the co-ordination between the various corporate, project, engineering, assurance and operational disciplines/departments.
Responsibilities
* Understand project requirements and assist in building project programmes, considering budget and time constraints.
* Update and maintain project programmes, collecting periodic progress updates through interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support the project team in driving project delivery according to the programme and business requirements.
* Assist in keeping projects on track by identifying critical activities and evaluating remedial actions.
* Prepare and update progress reports. Prepare reports as required (weekly, monthly, 4-week lookahead etc.)
* Attend internal meetings, and client meetings as required, to support the project team with programme related matters.
* Develop relationships with internal and external teams.
Experience
* MS Project, Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject experience
* At least 3 years’ experience in an infrastructure sector e.g. construction, rail, telecoms, water, nuclear.
* Experience or understanding of commercial, contract and project management.
Experience or understanding of:
* Design, engineering assurance and construction;
* Engineering / infrastructure / street works legislation and standards;
* Cost and commercial management;
* Risk management;
* Information management.
