We offer an exciting opportunity for a Machinist.
Responsibilities
Principal accountabilities:
14. Machine composite & metallic component parts using multi-axis CNC machinery
15. Assist engineering with part prove outs and machine alignments
16. Ensure finished work conforms to engineering requirements
17. Plan the most cost-effective method to produce components to drawing requirements
18. Perform weekly TPM checks
19. Set up cutting tools as per CNC program requirements
20. Set up parts as per EPR requirements on programmable actuators and solid fixtures
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes.
21. A recognised mechanical apprenticeship and at least 1 year’s relevant post apprenticeship machining experience within the last 5 years
OR
22. NVQ3 plus 5 years of relevant experience including at least 1 year’s relevant machining experience within the last 5 years.
AND
23. Have an understanding of CNC programming
24. Be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other related technical documentation
25. Be prepared to work a range of shifts
Desirable
An understanding 5-axis machine kinematics would be advantageous
26. A knowledge of Siemens 840D / Fanuc controllers would be advantageous
