TATA's Shotton works are responsible for delivering 500,000 tonnes of metallic coated and pre-finished steel per year to a variety of customers. The successful applicant will be someone that has a high attention to detail and is customer focused, methodical and has previously worked in a planner role.
Pay: £26,500 per annum, £13.59ph
Location: TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH
Shift pattern: Mon-Thu 08:30-17:00 and Fri 08:30-16:00, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 6 months initially with the view to extend
Start: ASAP (1-2 weeks) but pending the result of a medical
Responsibilities:
1. Pre plan shipments (where possible) referencing the Master Production schedule
2. Arranging logistics and shipping including the packing of products
3. Expediting and rerouting where necessary and providing proof of delivery to customers effectively
4. Monitoring agreed costs against supplier invoices
5. Resolving invoice queries promptly and effectively
6. Using the planning tools and software systems accurately
7. Closely working with stakeholders to maintain and exceed service standards
8. Identifying failure against plan and deliveries and recommending resolutions accordingly
9. Identifying potential peaks in customer demand and proposing corrective actions accordingly
10. Liaising with 3rd party container logistics and shipping lines
11. Supporting the Customer Service and Commercial team functions to ensure product availability and delivery
12. Confirming that all transport activities are undertaken effectively including those delivered by third party providers
13. Providing weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports as requested on customer and trend analysis
14. Communicating with Production Managers on a daily basis via telephone and email
15. Using MS Excel at an intermediate level including formulas, vlookup and pivot tables
16. Adhering to UK Health and Safety Legislation at all times
17. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Experience needed:
1. Prior experience in Supply Chain/Planner/Scheduler role
2. Capacity to operate with minimal supervision
3. Strong IT literacy skills including MS office, especially Excel
4. Experience with in house IT systems
5. Confident telephone manner
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Previous experience using SAP (desirable)
