Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse/Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in warehouse management systems. This role involves managing stock, materials handling, and ensuring efficient loading and unloading of goods. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse while also fulfilling driving duties as required.
Responsibilities
1. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load and unload materials safely.
2. Manage stock levels and ensure proper inventory control.
3. Perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as necessary.
4. Assist in building pallets for shipment and ensuring proper packaging of goods.
5. Maintain a clean and organised warehouse.
Requirements
1. Proven mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
2. Experience with warehouse management systems, preferably AS400.
3. Strong understanding of stock management and materials handling processes.
4. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) regularly throughout the shift.
5. Valid driving licence with experience in driving commercial vehicles preferred; must be aged 30 and above due to insurance limitations.
6. Forklift certification is advantageous but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
7. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
