Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse/Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in warehouse management systems. This role involves managing stock, materials handling, and ensuring efficient loading and unloading of goods. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse while also fulfilling driving duties as required.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load and unload materials safely.
* Manage stock levels and ensure accuracy.
* Perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as necessary.
* Assist in building pallets for shipment and ensuring proper packaging of goods.
* Maintain a clean and organised warehouse.
Requirements
* Proven mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Experience with warehouse management systems, preferably AS400.
* Strong understanding of stock management and materials handling processes.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) regularly throughout the shift.
* Valid driving licence with experience in driving commercial vehicles preferred; must be aged 30 and above due to insurance limitations.
* Forklift certification is advantageous but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
