About the Role: As a Supply Teacher, you will step into secondary classrooms, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular class teacher. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of subjects, manage student behaviour effectively, and adapt to various teaching environments. Key Responsibilities of the Supply Teacher: Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the school’s curriculum. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Ensure continuity of learning by following lesson plans and school policies. Support students in their educational development, providing guidance and assistance where necessary. Adapt teaching styles to suit different subjects and student needs. Establish strong relationships with staff and students to facilitate seamless integration into the school environment. Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure student welfare. Supply Teacher requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a must. Experience teaching in secondary schools is advantageous. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching across various subjects. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
