Title: Construction Lecturers
Location: Scotland
Pay: £23 - £45 per hour / £27k+
Duration: Temporary or Permanent
Reed - Further Education works with clients in Scotland and is always on the lookout for Construction Lecturers to teach GCSE / BTEC / A Level / Access to HE / HNC / HND across a variety of subject areas: Brickwork, Joinery, Woodwork, Electrical Installation, Plumbing & Gas, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, Architectural, Construction Management, Green Skills, etc.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Construction Lecturer?
* Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning, and assessment plans.
* Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
* Plan, prepare, and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching and learning resources, including the development of online learning resources for identified modules.
* Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
* Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve, and record learners’ progress for identified modules.
* Carry out internal verification duties in line with quality assurance processes. Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?
* Teaching qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, PGCE, PGDE, TQFE, certificate in education)
* Assessors’ qualification (e.g., A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA)
* Level 3 or equivalent qualification in the teaching subject area.
* Ability to manage challenging behavior.
* Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice settings.
* Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
