We are recruiting at our Droitwich Depot (WR9 0LW) for a Transport Shift Manager.
The purpose of the position is to enable the team to deliver targets and continuously improve performance by coaching and developing our people.
1. Contract: Full Time / Permanent
2. Shift Pattern: 4 on - 4 off (Night Shift 1800-0600)
3. Location: Droitwich Depot (WR9 0LW)
Responsibilities include:
* Create purpose and direction around Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures.
* Enable the team to create and deliver operational excellence opportunities aligned with Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures.
* Create high performance through performance management principles, KPIs, attendance, and handovers.
* Encourage others to seek out improvement opportunities within the workplace and convert them into operational excellence projects.
* People management, including delivering performance reviews, development, coaching, and handling employee relations issues.
* Ensure activities are aligned with overall business objectives and understand how current performance impacts the bottom line.
* Utilize all available opportunities to improve operational processes.
* Own and be accountable for all actions.
* Demonstrate a health and safety commitment by embedding Müller’s safety culture and leading incident investigations.
* Responsible for incident control.
* Serve as the point of contact for escalation regarding customer service.
* Encourage self-development through development plans and PDP processes.
* Create succession pathways for growth and potential within the organization.
* Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to improve the business.
* Manage day-to-day operations on shift, including legal and audit compliance.
* Manage contractor control and permits.
* Promote and instill MMID behaviors across all levels of the function.
Candidate requirements:
* Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
* An effective team member who works well independently.
* Excellent attitude towards work.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and reliability.
* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Desirable but not required).
* HGV Licence (Required).
