Job IntroductionHCRG Care Ltd is looking for a compassionate and skilled Band 5 Staff School Nurse to join our team and make a real difference in the health and well-being of school-age children and young people. You will work in partnership with families, schools, and other agencies to promote physical, mental, and emotional health and reduce inequalities. Your role will contribute to the safeguarding and positive outcomes of the children in your care.This role is for 22.5 hours a week on a term time only contract. If you would like more information please reach out to Micki Wardell on 07976748572 or Micki.wardell@hcrgcaregroup.com Main ResponsibilityAs a Band 5 Staff School Nurse you will:Understand and adhere to Clinical Governance, identifying, assessing, and protecting vulnerable children and families.Support the school nurse community service within a skilled public health team.Help develop and implement the School Nursing service within the defined locality, liaising with the Specialist School Nurse.Ensure a child-centred service by actively engaging young people in the planning and delivery of services.Collaborate with key partners to identify and address population health needs.Lead delegated work from the Specialist School Nurse, using leadership, prioritization, and assessment skills.Advocate for children/young people, families/carers, and the school health service.Assess children\\\'s health needs and identify any deviations from normal development.Promote healthy lifestyles through health education and discussions, in line with the School Health Needs Assessment.Support a caseload of vulnerable children and adolescents, working with families, schools, and other agencies.Assist with the care of children and adolescents with chronic and complex health needs, following current policies and procedures.Provide health education sessions, drop-ins, and referrals to partner agencies.Supervise and assess pre-registration student nurses.For a full list of responsibilities please see the attached job description. The Ideal CandidateRegistered Nurse – adult /paediatric. Can also be a Midwife as long as has a Registered Nurse qualification. NMC registrationEvidence of post registration education. Practice Assessor/Supervisor qualification or willingness to undertake Post Registration Experience Experience of working independently and as part of a team Able to maintain factual, consistent, accurate and contemporaneous records Understanding of the public health role of the school nurse Understanding of working within budgetary and resource constraints Able to communicate clearly both written and verbal.
