A vacancy has arisen for a Production Administration Assistant to support our busy operations team. The successful candidate will work in a production office and the role is crucial ensuring the smooth operation of the production office by providing administrative support with a varied range of tasks. The role is based in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.
You will be dealing with orders, customers, suppliers and production office on a daily basis.
The role:
1. Support the production team with regards to daily administrative paperwork.
2. Raising purchase orders.
3. Completing spreadsheets.
4. Daily tracking of externally ordered items and processes.
5. Accurately inputting and updating data in departmental databases and systems.
6. Acting as a liaison between the production departments and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
7. Ensuring all activities comply with industry standards, team policies, and regulatory requirements.
8. Liaising with customers and suppliers both over the phone and by email.
9. Hours will be working 39 hours per week; overtime is after 39 hours. You will need to work 2 Saturdays a month between 7.00 a.m. and 12 noon on a rota (paid at overtime).
What you will need:
1. Previous experience in a similar manufacturing/production environment is essential.
2. A structured approach to work.
3. Good organisation and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
4. Good written and verbal communications skills.
5. A confident telephone manner.
6. Good IT skills with practical understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
7. The ability to work with others and support others effectively in a team.
8. To be inquisitive.
9. Be educated to GCSE level 1 in both Maths and English (or equivalent).
10. Be flexible in relation to overtime.
This role will be permanent after a probation period.
