Axcis Education has an exciting new opportunity in the Exeter area working with primary or secondary aged pupils in a special school owned by a well-known trust. The school is looking for a full-time Wellbeing Classroom Assistant to support a small class of 8 pupils alongside the class teacher. The role is Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, paying £85 - £90 per day.
The provision provides EHCPs for each pupil, designed to support them and their families to stabilize and be better equipped to regulate behavior and engage in academic learning. The overall aim is for the children to return to mainstream schooling or a long-term educational setting. The children are taught in a personalized thematic curriculum designed to re-engage them into education. The trust's program is heavily centered on Emotional Logic and enabling a pupil to control their behavior.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with children or young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs and be comfortable taking on a role to assist positive behavior and behavior management. You must be a nurturing person with the ability to form good relationships with children and respect each individual on a case-by-case basis.
