About the role and team: We are seeking an experienced Capability Lead to support, mentor, and guide an expanding team of Delivery Managers with varying levels of skill and experience. Reporting directly to the Delivery Director, the Capability Lead will play a pivotal role in fostering growth, enhancing capabilities, and ensuring consistent, high-quality client outcomes. The successful candidate will be an experienced and pragmatic leader, skilled at fostering team development, driving strategic initiatives and hands-on mentor, dedicated to educating and empowering the team while aligning with organisational goals and industry best practices. As a Capability Lead at CreateFuture, you will lead our people, projects, and the growth of the delivery community of practice. You will set the standard by demonstrating what good looks like, supporting the development and ongoing enhancement of a delivery framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose as the business evolves. When not acting in your capability leadership capacity, you will actively contribute to the successful delivery of a range of projects and programmes, providing hands-on expertise and ensuring the delivery team consistently meets the highest standards. What you’ll be doing: Lead Delivery Excellence - Be responsible for outcomes across the full service and project lifecycle, from discovery to build, through to BAU, across a portfolio of work. Ensure consistency, efficiency, and risk minimization in all project delivery activities. Define and Promote the Delivery Capability - Clearly articulate the purpose and value of the delivery capability within CreateFuture, ensuring its role is well understood and championed across the organisation. Establish, refine, and embed robust Delivery Frameworks that deliver consistent results. Develop a Contemporary Delivery Approach - Collaborate with commercial, technology, and method specialists within CreateFuture to design and implement a delivery approach that is modern, effective, and highly desirable to clients. Stay ahead of industry trends to maintain a competitive edge. Build and Foster a Delivery Community of Practice - Lead the delivery community of practice within CreateFuture, promoting participation and engagement while encouraging attendance at wider industry events. Drive knowledge-sharing and peer learning initiatives across the team. Upskill and Empower the Delivery Team - Conduct a comprehensive skills gap analysis and create tailored development plans to address team needs. Work closely with L&D partners to apply appropriate learning pathways and champion continuous professional development. Build Trusted Client Relationships - Cultivate enduring, trust-based relationships with clients, positioning CreateFuture as a strategic digital partner. Act as a key point of escalation for complex delivery challenges and ensure client satisfaction at every stage. Advocate for CreateFuture - Represent CreateFuture within the industry by sharing knowledge, leading and hosting events, roundtables, and tech meet-ups, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives. Support Business Growth - Work alongside our commercial teams to contribute to RFPs and bids, ensuring the delivery capability is embedded in all that we do and aligns with business objectives and client needs. Are an Inspiring Leader : Demonstrated experience in consulting services, with a proven track record in delivery management and portfolio management. Have experience mentoring and upskilling teams with varying levels of ability. Foster Continuous Improvement : Passionate about professional growth, staying abreast of industry trends, and embedding them into team practice to maintain a competitive edge. Operate at a Senior Level : Confidently hold conversations with senior stakeholders, translating broad or vague client needs into actionable solutions. Have Strong Delivery Expertise : Extensive experience with delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and their application across diverse projects. Able to create frameworks that scale with organisational growth. Are Technologically Savvy : Familiar with digital transformation and technology trends. Capable of holding technical conversations and debating technology topics without necessarily being a technical expert. As this is a hybrid role we’re looking for people within a commuting distance of our hub locations ( Edinburgh/Leeds/Manchester/London) and who are flexible to travel to client sites and CreateFuture regional offices.
