Morgan Hunt is an established UK firm seeking a Building Performance Engineer to join its Glasgow office. This opportunity offers a unique chance to develop energy systems modelling skills and contribute to energy, decarbonisation, and sustainability strategies for new-build and existing buildings.
The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced team to gain a thorough understanding of HVAC system and control modelling using IES VE Apache HVAC software for various environmental systems. Key responsibilities include modelling typical and innovative HVAC systems, optimising HVAC operation, and minimising energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess a BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Building Services Design or Mechanical Engineering. Strong knowledge of building physics, heat transfer, energy balance, and thermal comfort is also essential. Additionally, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm for sustainable building services design and controls are required.
The ideal candidate will have analytical thought processes, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and proactively. An organised and methodical approach to managing tasks and priorities is also necessary, as well as a drive to meet deadlines and an understanding of commercial factors in design solutions.
Familiarity with IES-VE, CIBSE/ASHRAE load calculations, TM54, and Python is beneficial but not mandatory.

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with 34 days' holiday, 6% pension, hybrid work arrangements, yearly salary reviews, life assurance (5x salary), and a Friday 4pm finish.
