Brakes are currently recruiting for a QC Assistant to join the QC department in Newark and will report to the Quality Control Supervisor. As a Quality Assistant, you will be involved with the kitchen assessment of our range of food products, testing these products against specifications and liaising with various departments across the company and suppliers to help ensure product quality. This is a full time, permanent position and the hours for the role are Monday to Friday. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor Assessing product against specifications Liaising with other depots to get stock assessed or rejected Liaising with the Technical Managers to ensure product quality Managing customer complaints Carrying out store walks Admin duties for product holds, rejections and general paperwork Managing requests from different departments and prioritizing workloads About you: The successful candidate will preferably have worked in a food environment and have knowledge of QA/QC. This role would suit someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will be confident on with the pc, using word and excel. Experience of SAP/ AS400 is preferable but training will be given to the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated but work well in a team and have a flexible working approach to enable them to be customer focused and solutions driven.
