My client is a well-established medium sized engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth. They are a medium to heavy fabrication business who specialise within the Nuclear, Aerospace & O&G sectors.
They are looking to strengthen their team and appoint a Manufacturing Engineer which will be based at their site in Oldham.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct in-depth analysis of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
2. Apply lean principles to eliminate waste and improve production efficiency.
3. Ensure adherence to quality standards by identifying and addressing quality issues.
4. Implement quality control measures and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
5. Analyse production costs and propose cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
6. Evaluate machinery and tooling for efficiency and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
7. Provide training to machine operators and shop floor employees on new processes and best practices.
8. Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to drive ongoing enhancements in operations.
9. Ensure that all processes and workflows comply with safety regulations.
10. Identify and mitigate safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
2. Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
