The Paediatric Dental Department is formed of a multidisciplinary team which provides a range of dental treatment to our patients, including supporting Postgraduate Dentists, DCT’s, Registrars and The Special Care Team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a range of staff including consultants, specialist dentist’s, Hygiene/Therapy tutors and QMUL University.
Main duties of the job
In becoming a Barts Health Dental Nurse Manager you will be joining an organisation in which safe and compassionate care is at the heart of what we do, and that includes our staff. We have numerous staff benefits as well as providing subscription to a training package which supports our Dental Nurses in completing their annual GDC eCPD.
Candidates must hold a Dental Nursing qualification, have a good level of experience working as a Qualified Dental Nurse, have management experience and some teaching experience. Registration with the GDC is mandatory.
Previous experience of working within a Dental Hospital or similar setting, is desirable. A post qualification in Conscious Sedation Dental Nursing or keen interest to undergo training, would be an advantage.

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. NEBDN and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent
2. General Dental Council registration
3. Ability to deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse
4. Registered as a witness on the NEBDN Diploma in Dental
5. Nursing programme (or be working towards this)
Desirable criteria
6. Post Qualification Certificate
7. Experience of working in OMFS/Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine

8. Minimum of 3 years’ working as a Band 5 senior dental similar NHS setting
