As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice to join our dynamic Imports/Exports department.
Job Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and keen individual to gain valuable experience in business administration within the imports and exports sector. As a Level 3 Business Admin Apprentice, you will assist with day-to-day tasks in the department, supporting the team with administrative duties related to international shipments, import/export documentation, and customer relations. You will work closely with the Imports/Exports team to help ensure that processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support for the processing of import/export orders.
2. Assist with the preparation and completion of shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and delivery instructions.
3. Maintain accurate records of goods entering and leaving the business, ensuring all documentation is compliant with relevant regulations.
4. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and freight forwarders to track shipments and resolve any issues or delays.
5. Support the updating and management of the department’s systems, ensuring data is entered accurately and promptly.
6. Help respond to customer and supplier queries, providing information and assistance as required.
7. Support the team with organising and coordinating shipments, including liaising with customs brokers and ensuring proper documentation is in place.
8. Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and managing emails.
9. Work alongside colleagues to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
10. Contribute to reports and assist with performance analysis within the department.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.
2. Strong interest in business administration, logistics, and international trade.
3. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
6. Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
8. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Desired Attributes:
1. Some experience in an administrative role or an interest in import/export procedures (desirable but not essential).
2. Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
3. Problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative.
4. Good attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Training & Development:
As a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, you will receive on-the-job training, as well as support from Exeter College. This apprenticeship will help you develop key skills in business administration and international trade, and you will be working towards achieving a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.
