The difference you will make as a Housing First Family Officer: Riverside Scotland’s Housing Management team, in partnership with Riverside and our Local Authority partners develops projects and initiatives aimed at preventing homelessness and sustaining tenancies in neighbourhoods across the country. The role of the Housing First for Families Officer is to be part of our new Housing First for Families project. This service is aimed at providing and coordinating wraparound support to our new and existing tenant households with children, who are experiencing difficulties and who may be at risk of becoming homeless. Housing First for Families Officers will offer quality, confidential and comprehensive advice and assistance covering the following key areas: Housing Support, Money and Debt advice, Welfare Rights, Affordable Warmth, as well as acting as single point of contact for the household and coordinating support and interventions needed from external agencies such as Mental Health and Addictions services, Education, Social Work, and community support initiatives such as Befriending and social engagement. Officers will be responsible for carrying out an initial assessment of support needs for each family member as required, directly providing advice and assistance, and coordinating the development of programmes of support and intervention alongside external relevant services. The officer will work closely with Riverside Scotlands Voids and Lettings Team and Local Authority steering groups across Housing and Homelessness services to develop a holistic response to each household’s challenges, and to monitor the progress of support provision, with the About you We are looking for someone who has: A HNC/SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent, or equivalent experience. Experience of working with vulnerable adults & children and identifying the support and interventions needed to ensure and improve their well-being. Role Profile Strategy and Service development Responsible for assessing and managing a caseload of tenant households with children who have been accommodated from the homeless system, or who are at risk of becoming homeless. To utilise required case management systems for the assessment, provision, and monitoring of support intervention for each household member. To act as single point of contact for the household and provide advice, support, and assistance directly to the household on all aspects of tenancy management. Assess the support and interventions needed for each family member to thrive within the household and improve their health and well-being, and coordinate a programme of support and agency intervention for each household member. Work closely with Local Authority Homelessness services and other partnership groups to develop multi agency interventions for household members. To proactively work with Housing Management and Tenancy Sustainability Teams to address any tenancy related issues as needed to prevent legal action and potential homelessness. Act as an advisor, advocate and a representative on behalf of the household when coordinating and monitoring the progress of support interventions. To identify and act on Child Protection and Adult Support and Protection concerns as needed in accordance with Riverside Scotland’s policy and practice. Ensure that the views of tenant households are fully taken into account in the development and delivery of services. To gather and produce information demonstrating the outcomes of the Housing First for Families service. Other duties To provide a high quality, customer-orientated service championing the Riverside Service Style. Undertake personal development and training as necessary to keep up to date with legal, political, financial and other developments in the fields of housing and customer service. To ensure compliance with Riverside’s Equality and Diversity policy, in respect of employment and service delivery. Ensure that all data is compliant with legislation and policies relating to data quality. To actively promote Riverside/IHA locally. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and other regulatory obligations, assessing risk and putting in place relevant control measures. Person specification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential HNC/SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent, or equivalent experience. Previous experience of working and managing a caseload of tenant households. Customer focused with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. To be able to demonstrate that you are a self-motivated individual who has the ability to be accountable for tasks and deliver results. To be able to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and perseverance to achieve positive outcomes for households threatened with homelessness. Previous Housing Management and Housing Support provision experience. Desirable Relevant Housing Management or Housing Support qualifications.
