The Market Development Director will play a critical role in shaping and driving Mechline’s global growth strategy. This position combines strategic oversight and delivery responsibility of the company’s brand, marketing, and communications with a focus on expanding and developing international commercial channels. The role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking leader to identify new opportunities, adapt to global market trends, and deliver impactful strategies that elevate presence and delivers commercial growth within the UK and Ireland and internationally.
This is an opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, drive differentiation, and directly contribute to Mechline’s mission of setting industry standards in the foodservice and hospitality sectors.
Key Tasks:
* Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and international growth strategies to expand Mechline’s client base and achieve business objectives.
* Oversee all aspects of the brand, ensuring consistency, differentiation, and alignment with the company’s mission and values.
* Monitor global market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and business development.
* Lead the development of strategic marketing plans, including multi-channel campaigns, content creation, and product launches tailored to domestic and international audiences.
* Manage marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximise ROI.
* Direct appropriate cross-cultural public relations, social media messaging, and stakeholder communications.
* Plan and manage calendars of campaigns and events, universally. Be responsible for new product development reviews, initiatives and launch programmes.
* Oversight and development of web site and platform, critical especially in world market development, outreach and positioning.
* Identify and develop new international business channels, partnerships, and distribution networks.
* Create strategies for engaging and nurturing key accounts, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
* Drive the introduction of products into global markets, ensuring successful relationship development that meet customer’s needs.
* Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across marketing, international business, and external partnerships.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Provide regular performance reviews, growth opportunities, and coaching to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications and experience:
* Experience: A minimum of 4 years in a senior marketing or business development role with a strong focus on international markets.
* Industry knowledge: Expertise in the foodservice and hospitality sectors is preferred.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage stakeholders and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
* Strategic thinking: Ability to analyse global markets, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior management and external stakeholders.
* Education: Degree-level or similar qualification in marketing, business, or related fields.
* Technical skills: IT literacy, proficiency in CRM systems, financial and budgeting processes and performance reporting.
