Job overview
Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you flexible, approachable and a team player?
If so, our friendly Cytology Clerical team are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our busy team to assist with the day-to-day running of the Cytology office at the Royal Derby Hospital.
A good standard of English to O level/GCSE or equivalent is required and RSA/OCR level III WP/typing or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Experience working in a support secretary role and familiarisation of medical terminology is desirable.
A good knowledge of IT systems and excellent communication skills are also essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
* Work alongside the Admin Team Leader to ensure timely and effective workflow within the department.
* Work within a small team of administrative staff.
* Support with preparation of meetings and minute taking.
* Effectively communicate with external users and agencies in association with requirements of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
* Support the Laboratory / Clinical team with administrative duties.
* Input test results and understand patient management processes in relation to NHSCSP.
* Confidently use IT systems.

* Previous experience as a support secretary.
