Theatre posts are suitable for newly qualified and experienced practitioners. You would work as part of a highly skilled team where you can gain a wealth of experience. Candidates interested in developing a career in theatres will have the opportunity to develop a range of relevant skills as we have a dedicated education team in place with a comprehensive education strategy which underpins the development of all grades of staff within theatres, facilitating career development and progression.
In Theatres, we provide a supportive learning environment which includes preceptorship, supernumerary status while achieving competencies with further support in the initial phase of working solo. We offer an in-house perioperative course, support with revalidation, leadership and career development. Experienced staff are encouraged and supported to further develop using the educational and experiential learning opportunities available depending on your chosen career path.
We have implemented shared governance which will provide an ideal opportunity for professional development and the chance to influence and deliver change in the departments. Further CPD is available including the PG Cert/Dip Advanced Perioperative Care. This course is accredited by the University of Northampton and delivered in the Trust.
Would you like to work for a Trust where you can be proud of the contribution you make to delivering compassionate excellence to your patients?
Obtaining a role in theatres at Oxford University Hospitals will enable you to continue your career or to enhance and learn new skills in a new environment.
The area we are particularly looking to recruit to is Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research. The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
