We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to assist the Engineer in managing the technical compliance of the project to the design specification in order to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safely, on time and to the required quality.
Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Your mission
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
* Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’.
* Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
* To assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
* Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
* Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
* Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
* Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
* Completing Daily Diaries.
* Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
* Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.
* To be aware of the provisions of the Kier Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.
* Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.
* Record instructions.
* Maintain drawing register.
Who are we looking for?
* Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
* May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
* Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey
* Experience in similar role.
* Awareness of commercial processes.
* Familiar with Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS.
* Proven people and project management skills.
* Team leader with organisational skills.

* TWS or TWC
* First Aid at Work
* SSSTS
* Developing ITP’s
* Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks & Reinforced Concrete
* Nuclear experience
