Required Skills MEICA Installation Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering SMSTS NEBOSH NEC Water Wastewater Infrastructure Job Summary Our Client, a Civil engineering & Water specialist contractor, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join their team in Basingstoke and London. As a Project Engineer in the MEICA team, you'll bring hands-on MEICA or industrial installation experience to provide technical input and ensure work is safe and meets specifications before implementation. With a strong focus on safety, you'll maintain zero tolerance for unsafe practices and work closely with the project team to ensure successful project delivery. Experience - Ability to liaise at all levels - A team player with the ability to co-ordinate project-related activities with clients’ consultants and 3rd parties - Strong leadership qualities and a natural problem solver. - Able to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines. - Able to work in a busy environment under pressure. - Educated to Degree level or equivalent in an Engineering related subject, ideally in the field of Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, Manufacturing or Civil engineering. - SMSTS or NEBOSH qualified. - Relevant CSCS Card (Either Experienced Technical Supervisor, Supervisory, Professionally Qualified Person, or Manager). - Previous experience working in a similar role. - Familiar with programme management and maintenance. - Proficient with IT specifically full Office 365 suite. - Knowledge of health and safety legislation regarding safe work practise. - SSSTS / SMSTS - 1st Aid trained - Understanding the importance of promoting a safety culture on site. - Management of electrical contractors and designers. - Authorised person experience is favorable. - Level 3 Award in the requirements for Electrical installations BS7671 Level 3 NVQ diploma in electrical engineering Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent) AP12. - WIMES Standards familiarisation. (Desirable) - Experience of working within the utilities industry, especially Water & Wastewater. (Desirable) - Strong programme and schedule management experience. (Desirable) - Working knowledge of Microsoft office package. (Desirable) - Commercial and contract experience. (Desirable) - Knowledge of MF1, NEC, IChemE or similar model contracts. (Desirable) - Thames Water Safety Passport. (Desirable) - EUSR Water Hygiene card. (Desirable) Job Responsibilities Supporting the Project Management team in the delivery of MEICA projects. Production of functional specifications, contractor selection and ensuring that all supporting scope is delivered on time. Provide data to the project Commercial manager / QS in respect to variation orders and site instructions. Manage suppliers of engineering services across all technical disciplines. Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project. Liaise with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress. Developing and reviewing tender documents, both for consultants and construction works. Carrying out Technical Assurance checks and audits of contractor activities and outputs through the detail design and construction phases of projects. Supporting the project team in preparing detailed MEICA & interface engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
