Our Client is a family-owned business responsible, well-respected, and a progressive Construction Company that offers Quality in Construction throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Quality workmanship and listening to our clients' requirements together with a 'hands-on' approach to projects is key to the Company's success. Experienced in delivering New Build, Refurbishment, and Maintenance works in both the Public and Private sectors.
You will work closely with clients to establish their requirements, set up the estimate structure within estimating software, inputting all labour, material, and subcontract elements, complete site surveys as well as negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices.
You will be finalising costs with the Company Director and preparing tender submissions including offer letters, qualifications, considerations, and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with tender return deadlines and following up tenders to secure projects.
You will have previous experience in a similar role with a strong knowledge of installation methods with the ability to read drawings and specifications, excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, as well as strong numerical, written communication, and presentation skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Analyse drawings and specifications.
* Understand contractual terms and conditions.
* Assemble accurate and well-organised estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Stipulated Price, Design-Build, and Construction/Project Management formatted projects.
* Provide clear detailed quantity take-offs.
* Organise sub-contractors' quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents, and issue properly documented purchase orders.
* Complete Budgeting and Scheduling for projects and track the same. Monitor progress, requisition change orders, and identify any potential risks.
* Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and clients.
* Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to the project.
* Work with and deal with concerns of field personnel.
* Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing.
* Formulate cost breakdown from estimates and for project progress.
* Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience estimating projects within the construction industry.
* Experience within all sectors of the construction industry.
* Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design.
* Ability to use CAD programs.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* Graduate from a recognised engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset.
* Minimum 5 years experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position.
