Investigative Reporter, EMEA - Reuters
We envisage the successful candidate being based in London. We are open to highly qualified candidates in locations elsewhere in EMEA time zones.
Reuters is seeking an accomplished, tenacious and deeply experienced reporter to produce ambitious investigations, illuminating explanatory journalism and spellbinding narrative work, primarily in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa. The successful candidate will lead major investigative projects and other in-depth enterprise journalism in these dynamic and varied regions.
We value reporters who are creative, collegial and collaborative - and able to thrive in a large, globe-spanning newsroom. As an Investigative Reporter, you will work closely with Reuters reporters, visual journalists and editors around the world to leverage our vast expertise on political, business and social issues and our on-the-ground presence in these regions.
This is not an entry-level job. Candidates must submit an impressive portfolio of clips demonstrating a multi-year track record of agenda-setting, high-impact investigative coverage. They also must show an ability to generate a steady stream of original investigative, explanatory and narrative ideas.
Collaboration skills are key. As a member of the Global Enterprise Team, you will work closely with fellow investigative and beat reporters, our data-journalism team, our bureau chiefs, our global business and industry editors, and our photographers, video editors, design editors and graphics editors, and our social-media team.

* Spearhead the conception, reporting and writing of high-impact investigative and explanatory stories on a variety of subjects.
* Work with journalists around the world.
* Regularly generate high-impact story ideas.

About You
You're a good fit for the role of Investigative Reporter if you have:

* The ability to produce both complex reporting projects and quick-hit in-depth pieces, both on your own and in teams.
* The ability to produce agenda-setting work in multiple media, not just text.
* The ability to travel to and operate in a wide variety of countries.
* Experience working with visual journalists and data journalists.
* Numeracy: comfortable with gathering and making sense of data and an ability to spot opportunities where the creative use of it can elevate stories.
When submitting your application, please ensure you include your CV, a cover letter detailing why you're perfect for the job as well as a selection of relevant clips.
Please note: Completed applications must be submitted by Sunday 19th January 2025.
