Our four Divisional Lead Pharmacists together with their directorate leads form the leadership team for the OUH Clinical Pharmacy Service. Reporting to the Associate Director of Pharmacy (Clinical Services), they play a key role in delivering the Pharmacy and Sterile Services Directorate’s vision by engaging their own teams and their wider divisional team to deliver our goals and objectives.
You will be responsible for pharmacy services to our Surgery, Women's and Oncology Division, which consists of the following Directorates; Oncology & Haematology, Surgery, Renal Transplant & Urology, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy & Theatres, Maternity and Gynaecology.
The Divisional Lead Pharmacists act as role models in terms of Trust values and behaviours as well as clinical expertise. The post-holder will lead and manage, the delivery of an exemplary clinical pharmacy service to their division, in accordance with national standards and strategy.

Our pharmacy team pride themselves on delivering excellent and compassionate care, acting with integrity and respect, for the benefit of patients within the trust. Our leadership team align to the Trusts Divisional and Directorate structure and includes eight consultant pharmacists across various specialities. We focus on delivering the best clinical training and opportunity for learning, while simultaneously striving to improve pharmaceutical services.
This role maintains a key relationship between their division and the pharmacy directorate to ensure excellent medicine management and the delivery of patient focussed medicines optimisation. The divisional lead is an integral member of the divisional management team, providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and taking responsibility for ensuring medicines management and pharmacy services are considered and and any risks mitigated in all developments within the division. The post-holder will need to balance the demands of human resource management, medicines governance and safety, antimicrobial stewardship and cost-effective use of medicines and resources.
