About the role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Buyer to join our team. This is a role where you will support procurement activities through all stages of the product life cycle, from estimation via NPI, mass production to end of life management.
Ensuring the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective and aligned with latest compliance requirements and our business’s objectives.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in procurement. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and experience in supplier management, relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills. An understanding of freight management and compliance requirements is of benefit.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for the management and execution of purchasing activities for assigned components within the product portfolio.
* Developing in-depth knowledge of suppliers and industry forces.
* Focusing on cost savings, supplier performance and relationship management, while improving the sourcing procurement processes.
* Create and maintain supplier service level agreements.
* New product introduction (NPI) and design/supplier change requirements.
* Facilitate and lead implementation of new product supply from sample prototype level through to approved status.
* Creation of total cost comparisons including supplier recommendations.
* Lead on price increase, material escalation, supply shortage constraints and supplier difficulties encountered.
* Manage supplier price lists, minimum order quantities (MOQs), long lead times, efficient batch sizes including but not limited to:
* Packaging
* Castings, machining, and fabrications
* Rubber and plastics
* Fasteners and connecting materials.
* Cables, wires and cable accessories
* Connectors
* Chemicals
* PCBs and PCBAs
* Management and fulfilment of procurement KPI’s including but not limited to:
* Order book management (overdue purchase orders (POs), acknowledgements.
* Year-on-year savings reductions (PPV), value analysis and value engineering (VAVE)
* On time delivery performance
* Scrap rates reductions, inventory reductions, reject rates parts per million (PPM), in alignment with the Quality Department.
* Accounts payable – invoices referrals
