Main responsibilities of the role:
1. To proactively manage a busy service's administrative team, supervising and coordinating the workload.
2. To monitor and assess the administrative workload, identifying and backfilling gaps to ensure continuity of services.
3. To collect, analyse and interpret data, supporting and reporting to the Divisional Manager to meet the Division's key performance indicators and inform decision making.
4. To support the Divisional Manager in specific project management to support the development of the service.
5. To co-ordinate aspects of service delivery to ensure effective utilisation of the service.
6. To support patient flow and also support other areas within the division, such as critical care, OPAT and IV access.
Main duties of the job:
1. Line management of a defined group of administrative staff, including management of sickness/absence, individual reviews, and personal development. First line for grievance, disciplinary and capability procedures.
2. Responsible for first stage disciplinary interviews.
3. To provide a clear line of communication for all admin and clerical staff booking annual/study leave, ensuring the provision of adequate cover as appropriate.
4. To ensure a clear channel of communication to the Divisional Manager on issues relating to admin and clerical staff and the service's function.
5. Review existing data capture systems across the directorate to ensure they are fit for purpose, consistent and provide quality information for the management teams.
6. To create and manage spreadsheets and databases in order to collate meaningful reports.

2. Significant relevant administration experience.
3. Significant relevant experience of line management of administration teams.
4. Significant relevant experience of working within the NHS.

1. Excellent computer literacy demonstrated by an ECDL qualification and experience in using a wide range of software packages.
