Job overview
To work in support of senior physiotherapists to provide a high standard physiotherapy service as part of the 6 monthly rotational scheme; this involves working across all five sites of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton in a range of ward settings, outpatient departments and rehabilitation units. Experience of working in the Community setting is also included. Rotations include: MSK outpatients, hands, Group Rehab, Acute stroke and stroke rehab, Neuro Outpatients and head injuries, ICU, Surgery, Respiratory Medicine, Acute Medicine and Elderly Care including Parkinson's disease, T&O, ED, Women's Health, Oncology, Community care inclusive of respiratory and rehabilitation pathways.

Main duties of the job
* To rotate through different specialities every 6 months.
* To participate on the 24-hour on call emergency respiratory roster once trained and inducted.
* To work various shift patterns according to speciality service needs, over seven days a week.
* To carry clinical caseloads and contribute to service delivery.
* Participate in a well-established programme supporting your career pathway and personal development.
* Perform physiotherapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations.
* To deliver physiotherapy treatment programmes.
* Hold own clinical caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service.
* Provide a flexible service during pressure times.
* Contribute to the training and supervision of Therapy Support Workers and more junior staff.
* To aid in the delivery of the work experience service.
* Undertake specific tasks as delegated by the senior staff e.g. recruitment and retention events.

* Qualified and Registered HCPC or to qualify by January/February 2025.
* Courses appropriate to position.
Experience
* Evidence of experience MSK, Neuro and respiratory.
* Experience working in Outpatients and Acute Inpatients environment.
* Good all round placement experience.
* Evidence of working within the care setting outside of placements but not in therapy.
* Has worked or is working as a therapy assistant - less than 3 months = 1, greater than = 2.
* Currently working as a physiotherapist.
Skills
* Concise written documentation with appropriate information.
* Evidence of being able to communicate with different people and in different situations.
* Evidence of working as part of a team.
* Evidence of being able to time manage.
* Evidence of computer skills - Word, Excel etc.
