A Stress Engineer/Analyst plays a crucial role in the Aerospace and Defense industry, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest quality standards. At Quest Global, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Stress Engineer/Analyst to join our team.
As a Stress Engineer/Analyst, you will work as part of a team on all phases of the project life cycle including design, demonstration, development, production, and customer support. You will be responsible for performing stress and structural analyses to ensure the integrity and performance of the design meets all required standards, so a strong mathematical emphasis is required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. The ability to plan and execute tasks to achieve timescales and costs in conjunction with designated KPI’s.
2. The ability to own problems and provide pragmatic engineering solutions to challenging timescales and budgets.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.
4. Attend PDR, DDR reviews to provide detailed reports.
5. Generate detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
6. Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support the development and improvement.
7. Conduct thorough analysis and investigations of non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis and failure mode analysis.
8. Monitor and track the progress of corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness.
9. Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve non-conformance issues and improve overall product quality.
10. Maintain accurate documentation of non-conformance reports, investigations, and corrective actions.
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
1. Proficient in Stress Analysis packages (e.g., ANSYS, MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperMesh), ideally ANSYS.
2. Experience in the analysis of complex engineering structures.
3. Expert knowledge in conventional (hand calculation) techniques for static analysis.
4. Proficient knowledge of numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis.
5. Experience in structural analysis of mechanical components, parts, assemblies, and subassemblies for heavy industry, power transmission systems, gears, and gearboxes.
6. Candidate should be familiar with structural analysis practices and methodologies, including significant structural redesigns.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
2. Previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
3. Experience in heavy engineering industry, power transmission systems, gears, and gearboxes.
4. Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
