The Opportunity
A prestigious global law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate (4-6 PQE) to join its high-performing London team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented lawyer to work on complex, high-profile M&A transactions, including public M&A, takeovers, and strategic corporate advisory work.
The London corporate team plays a key role in the firm’s international practice, advising multibillion-dollar investment funds, financial institutions, and energy sector clients on market-leading deals across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and beyond. The team is renowned for its expertise in private equity, special situations, and cross-border investments, making it a recognised player in the international corporate market.
The Role
As a Corporate Associate, you will:
* Advise on high-value, complex M&A transactions, including public and private deals, takeovers, and debt-for-equity swaps.
* Work on strategic corporate advisory mandates, including schemes of arrangement, take-privates, and restructuring transactions.
* Act for leading investment funds and financial institutions on special situations, distressed investing, and equity restructurings.
* Collaborate with market-leading partners and senior professionals on cross-border transactions.
* Gain exposure to cutting-edge deals across the energy, renewables, infrastructure, technology, and telecommunications sectors.
* Contribute to business development and client relationship management initiatives.
Key Requirements
* 4-6 years’ PQE, qualified in England & Wales or an equivalent jurisdiction.
* Proven experience in high-value M&A transactions and a keen interest in public M&A.
* Experience advising energy clients or sophisticated financial institutions (e.g., investment banks, hedge funds, institutional lenders, or major investors).
* Strong technical skills with the ability to handle complex, cross-border deals.
* A commercially driven mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
* Outstanding academic credentials and a commitment to excellence.
