The role will be responsible for leading the electrical subject matter discipline within the wider EMEA - Design function, and is fundamental to the quality, technical delivery evolution and operation of our standardized product offering to our customers. This requires innovation and driving force to ensure that STACK remains as market leader by actively contributing to new project master plans, development of electrical/mechanical systems for use by the wider Design Delivery Group, design standardization, continuous improvement development and implementation. He/She will be reporting directly to VP Design Management.
Tasks
* Provide oversight and assistance with writing and editing of electrical specifications and equipment selection for building systems and devices.
* Assist with key plant & equipment standardized specification as well as Vendor selection.
* Provide strategic direction for 'build-to-suit' opportunities.
* Act as mentor/discipline expert to group personnel, providing continuous evaluation, assistance and support through professional training and career development.
* Review all electrical deliverables for technical content, quality and adherence to code/standardization requirements.
* Collaborate with Program/Design Development staff, Project Managers and Market Sector Leaders to improve or develop new engineering methods to improve efficiency, technique, quality, and dependability.
* Conduct electrical development reviews to ensure projects adhere to specifications and standards.
* Collaborate with Solution Engineering on client related technology and design changes that will influence the STACK EMEA basis of design.
* Develop strong positive working relationships with other departments through STACK EMEA.
* Stay involved in team curation of reference designs and assist with updates and inclusion of design improvements.
Job Practicalities
* Extensive familiarity and working knowledge of: Building & energy; ASHRAE; NFPA; codes.
* Deep understanding of technical data center infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges.
* Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports.
* Strong application software skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Visio; AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (fluency in another major European language is a definite plus).
* Excellent public speaking abilities.
Qualifications
* As a minimum, a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
* 5+ years of relevant experience.
* Ideally Chartered or holds professional registration in electrical engineering.
* Strong organizational and presentation skills.
* Confident in interacting with senior level stakeholders.
Work Environment/Conditions
* Office based position with ability to work remotely and at construction project sites.
* Travel Required - up to 50%.
