Job summary The North East Ambulance Service operates a fully integrated service providing both 111 and 999 services to the North East region. We are recruiting a GP Lead to oversee our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and Clinical Assessment Service (CAS). The role is for 4 sessions per week. Salary £73k to £110k pro rata, depending on experience. You must be a qualified GP, ideally with experience of working within an out of hours / 111 provider service with skills in remote assessment. Main duties of the job The Urgent Care GP Lead role will assist in providing dynamic management and leadership across the organisation with a focus on the role of the sessional GP advisors to ensure a fully integrated model that is both responsive and effective. The GP Lead will be responsible for the oversight and development of clinical services within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) / Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) from a primary / urgent care perspective. They will be professionally responsible for the sessional Drs with regard to providing assurance through the governance framework around competency and effectiveness. The role will ensure performance targets and KPIs are met and that services provided by sessional Drs are both safe and to a high quality.
