Female Support Worker
We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Tamworth area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client who has a Learning Disability and Cerebral Palsy to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home and community. Our client has a range of interests and enjoys getting out and about regularly, attending day centres, travelling on public transport, swimming, and shopping. There are also two pet Huskies in the family home.
You will be working as part of a small team on a 2:1 basis.
Your contracted hours will be: An average of 17 hours per week (a total of 68 hours over a 4 week period).
The majority of the shifts will be day shifts (9am start) however there will also be 1 x evening shift each Wednesday to support our client to attend a local disco (7:30pm-9:30pm). The role will also include working 3 Saturdays out of 4.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.

You must be self-motivated, well-organised, reliable, and an excellent team player. You will need to have a good sense of humour. As well as being a naturally caring, confident and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:
* Personal care, support to manage continence, and measures to maintain a good skin state.
* Moving and Handling (including hoisting and position changes).
* Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, and cooking nutritious meals).
* Dysphagia (to provide support with meal times).
* Monitoring of general health and well-being, and daily record keeping.
* Providing support and companionship to get out into the community.
You should also have:
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
