Working in the Engineering Department alongside Operations and Development departments, the jobholder will focus on supporting production equipment and processes. They will be involved in the development, installation, upkeep, and improvement of production lines, jigs, fixtures, and bespoke machinery, ensuring maximum productivity and quality/yield within a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Development of new production line equipment and special-purpose machinery, including:
* Producing equipment/machine design specifications, RFQs, and timing plans.
* Assisting with equipment/machine development and production with external suppliers.
* Supporting activities such as reviews, testing, installation, commissioning, and internal training.
* Assisting in producing and reviewing documentation, including PFMEAs, capability studies, and machine sign-offs.
* Ensuring all equipment/machinery is safe and meets regulatory requirements, including CE marking of CyDen-developed equipment.
Maintain and Improve Legacy Production Line Equipment and Machinery, including:
* Ensuring equipment/machine documentation and technical drawings are up to date.
* Collaborating with production teams to resolve equipment/machine faults and issues.
* Supporting continuous improvement/upgrades on equipment/machinery.
* Assisting in breakdown and planned maintenance activities to maintain high standards.
* Ensuring equipment/machinery complies with safety regulations, including CE marking.
* Reviewing the effectiveness of scheduled maintenance and critical spare parts management.
Continuous Improvement:
* Assisting in investigating new production processes, such as automated soldering and laser etching.
* Supporting efforts to identify and implement opportunities to improve production processes.
* Contributing to feedback for product improvements to the Development team.
* Participating in continuous improvement activities to achieve a world-class manufacturing facility.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Collaborating effectively with technicians and engineers across shifts.
* Reporting on the progress of ongoing projects and tasks.
Tooling Design
* Experience with AutoCAD, Solid works, Inventor for design reviews, design modifications

Required Experience/ Skills:
Essential
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
Experience with equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Desirable
Experience with AutoCAD, Solid work
Required Education/ Qualifications/ Training:
Essential
HNC/HND in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Design or Industrial Engineering.
Desirable
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Design or Industrial Engineering.
