The Annual Fund Officer is a pivotal member of our expanding philanthropy team, collaborating closely with the Director of Development to spearhead efforts aimed at elevating and growing the Annual Fund (currently at $3.1 million).
What you will do:
* Direct, implement, and evaluate our Annual Fund Program, generating income from donors through strategic multichannel marketing efforts, volunteer solicitations, and face-to-face contact.
* Create a comprehensive Annual Fund campaign strategy by seeking input from the development and major gifts teams and your MCHT conservation colleagues.
* Collaborate with the Communications team to guide the development and design of fundraising materials, including comprehensive campaign assets.
* Engage in all aspects of volunteer creation and engagement, including celebrating volunteers (Board of trustees, Council, etc.).
* Grow membership and participation in MCHT’s Next Wave group (donors 50 years old and younger).
* Review existing donor population and develop strategies to cultivate and solicit higher gifts.
* Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure best practices for our online giving process, participate in group strategy discussions, and contribute to achieving the overall goals of the department.
* Schedule and perform visits with annual donors and donor prospects to ensure continuity, which will involve significant offsite travel.

What you will bring:
* Excellent management skills, grounded in a commitment to collaboration and support.
* Track record in relationship management and managing an annual fund in a campaign.
* Ability to write clear and persuasive appeals.
* Experience working in an integrated communications and development function at a nonprofit.
* Confidence to create enthusiasm with staff, volunteers, and constituents and the communication skills to work with a wide range of people.
* Skills to support the utilization of prospect research and creating solicitation strategies.
* 8+ years of development and fundraising experience, especially in annual giving. A combination of bachelor’s degree and 5 years of fundraising experience is preferred. Experience in conservation is a plus!
* A love of travel and meeting new people.
How and where you will work:
Work is performed in a normal office environment not subject to extremes of noise, temperature, odor, etc. Operates computer, printer, and other office equipment. Significant offsite travel is required.
We have offices in Topsham, Rockport, MDI, and Whiting, Maine, and the location of this position is flexible. We have a hybrid work model with 2 office days and 3 home days. No matter your office location, you will work once a month in Topsham to connect and collaborate with the team who sits here.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a benefits package including insurance, generous vacation and sick time, 14 paid holidays, and a retirement plan. The annual starting salary range for this role is $68,800 to $78,000 and will depend upon experience.
