Building Control Surveyor

Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP60,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits
The Client
Our client is a well-established provider of building control services across domestic, residential, commercial, and industrial projects. They collaborate with homeowners, builders, architects, and agents to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and related legislation, offering practical advice and guidance as needed.
The Responsibilities
1. Provide pre-application advice to clients and potential clients regarding Building Regulations.
2. Assess and set fees, ensuring the scope of work is agreed with the client.
3. Generate quotations.
4. Vet applicable documents to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and statutory legislation.
5. Conduct plan checks to verify compliance with Building Regulations.
6. Perform site inspections to ensure work complies with Building Regulations.
7. Accurately record all project and inspection details in the company's database.
8. Follow the company's QA procedures in all duties.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Participate in training to stay updated on new systems and legislation, ensuring continuous improvement.
11. Support new staff members with company systems and processes.
12. Advise and support staff on Building Control matters.
13. Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and company guidelines.
14. Undertake additional duties as reasonably required, as directed by a Director.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Building Control, Building Surveying, Building Studies, or equivalent.
* Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB, or working towards it.
* Practical, common-sense approach to Building Control.
* Effective time management and planning skills.
* Professional demeanor and high discretion.
* Proficiency in IT systems.
