Do you often wonder what happens to patients in Diagnostic Imaging / Interventional Radiology Cath Lab and who looks after their care and welfare whilst in the department?
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 3 Senior Nursing Assistant to join our highly skilled and motivated team in providing excellent care, whilst caring for patients undergoing interventional procedures and recovering within the department.
Some of the procedures we do are:
1. Vascular - Pelvic Vein, Uterine Fibroid, Varicocele, Prostate Artery Embolisations
2. Peripheral Vascular Angioplasties and Vascular Stenting
3. Nephrostomy and Ureteric Stenting
4. Radiologically-inserted Gastrostomy Tubes
5. Thyroid Ablations
6. Sialography
7. Thrombectomies
8. Percutaneous Biopsies and Drainages, etc.
The unique and varied nature of the speciality means there is always something new and interesting to learn as new procedures are developed and undertaken. We provide high quality patient focused care to outpatients and in-patients. So if you are dynamic and motivated, have excellent communication skills, experience in an acute care setting, and would like a new challenge then this is the team for you!
There are varied shifts worked with core hours between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.
This post is part time and expected days and hours of work are Thursdays and Fridays (08:00-18:00). However work patterns may change in the future as the service requirements change.
Main duties of the job
Lead aprons are worn for several hours at a time for certain procedures, and there is a certain amount of manual handling of patients, beds and trolleys.
